Once after an early Cubby Bear gig, along about 1984, Rick Szeluga said to me, "You were good tonight. You had your rock 'n' roll legs on." I wrote the song right after that. I always loved the Charles Atlas ads in the back of Superman Comics when I was a kid. There was a before cartoon of a skinny kid sitting on a towel having sand kicked in his face by a muscle bound bully, then an after showing the kid all built and showing the bully what for after he had passed the Charles Atlas body building course. I was the skinny kid on the towel, but I never took the Charles Atlas Course.
